PROCESS
01. Brainstorm
For this project, I was inspired by Reasonable Media’s photography and his concept for it. I made a moodboard mixed with some of his images and similar styled images from Unsplash.
02. Create
The colour palette was the easy part as I used the eye dropper tool from a collection of Reasonable Media’s photographs and a theme of earthy colour tones came up. For the logo I started with the basics of sketching it out with pen and paper.
03. Finalize
To complete this project, I made a brand guideline package with details about the typography, colour, logo do’s and don’t’s, and other important information.
01. Brainstorm Identity
Based in Vancouver, BC, Reasonable Media has a deep rooted passion for photography and capturing the moment. Many of his photographs are breathtaking views of the Pacific Northwest, international landscapes of Vietnam, Iceland, and many other beautiful spaces.
To get my creativity flowing, I created a collection of photos on Unsplash that would become the moodboard for the look and feel I was going for with Reasonable Media.
The logo creation was first designed using a pencil and paper. After I picked my top three designs, I went to Illustrator. Using Illustrator, I created multiple iterations and received input from the client to see if he liked it or not. It was a thoughtful process of selecting the font that best embodied Reasonable Media and being unique. After the font was selected, I incorporated a camera frame to add a photography aspect to the logo.

02. Create Brand Guidelines
For Reasonable Media, I created a full brand guideline package that includes typography, colour palette, and new brand identity. Everything was made from scratch and created using Illustrator. In total, the brand guidelines are 13 pages and are clear about how to use the new logo.

03. Web Design
In addition to creating a new brand identity for Reasonable Media, I did a site review of their current website and noticed that their overall user experience could be improved. When the user is welcomed on the home page, there is no clear call to action, so it can lead to a high bounce rate. Below are two high fidelity mockups of what the new website will look like. Once this is reviewed with the client, some changes may be made. Incorporating a print shop is one way that Reasonable Media can add to his online space. Stay tuned for more updates as this project progresses!
